FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Bench warrants have been issued for an Oil City man who absconded from court supervision and failed to show for his court hearing.
John T. Biddle, 31 of Oil City, was scheduled to appear in court on April 29, for sentencing after pleading guilty in February on five counts of felony burglary charges, and one count of failure to verify address/be photographed.
Biddle is a registered sex offender.
On April 23, Biddle absconded from supervision and the first bench warrant was filed, according to court documents.
Then on May 2, after he didn’t show for his sentencing on April 29, another bench warrant was issued.
Biddle was being charged in his connection to the church burglaries from last September.
His accomplice Steven G. Kostenbauder, 32, of Meadville, was sentenced April 4, by Judge Robert L. Boyer to serve 7-1/2 to 30 years at Camp Hill state prison.
Both men were taken into police custody early on the morning on September 30, on felony burglary charges after burglarizing around two dozen churches in the region.
