FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin man has pleaded guilty to two counts of Simple Assault stemming from a July 24 incident in which he was accused of assaulting a Georgetown Road couple while they were in bed.
According to Franklin-based State Police, 21-year-old Nathan McAninch, of Franklin, is accused of repeatedly striking the male victim with his fists.
Police say McAninch also allegedly dragged the woman off the bed by her hair, while kicking her.
A young child was in the house during the attack; the woman grabbed the child and her cell phone and locked both of them in the bathroom, according to police.
Both victims required treatment for their injuries at UPMC Northwest.
McAninch was originally charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault (Felony 1) two count of Aggravated Assault(Felony 2); two counts of Simple Assault (Misdemeanor 2); and Harassment (Summary).
All charges were dropped except for two counts of Simple Assault.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 3, 2014.
